How we make content

This page explains how we draft, check, review, date and correct posts on the Settle blog that carry a "Reviewed by" line. Settle Inc. publishes the Settle blog.

How posts are drafted

We choose topics from the questions consumer brands ask about financing, purchasing, accounts payable and cash flow. Some posts are drafted with AI writing tools. A named person at Settle owns each post from the first draft to publication and edits it before review.

How facts are checked

Every number about Settle in a post, such as a funding amount, a term, a fee or an integration, comes from an internal list of facts that Settle has verified. Each fact on that list has a source.

Every claim about another company links to a page that states it. If we cannot find a source for a claim, we do not publish the claim.

Before a post is published, the person who owns it checks every fact and claim against the Settle product and the sources.

How posts are reviewed

The people named in a post's "Reviewed by" line read the post and approve it before it is published. Posts that mention financing rates, fees, terms or eligibility always include a legal review. The date in that line is the day the review was completed.

You can read who our reviewers are and what each of them checks on our editorial team page.

Financing information

Posts about financing are for information only. They are not an application for credit or an offer of credit. Credit is subject to application and approval, and actual terms depend on each business's credit eligibility.

Dates

Each post shows the date it was published. When we change a post in substance, for example to correct a number, add a section or replace a source, the post also shows the date of that change as "Updated". We do not change a post's dates when its content has not changed.

Corrections

If you find an error in a post, email us at support@settle.co. We correct factual errors when we confirm them, and the post then shows the date of the correction as "Updated".
