What is the Settle API?

The Settle API gives you programmatic access to your Settle data. Connect your purchasing, bill pay and working capital data to your own software, data warehouse and reports, and keep them in sync as things change in Settle.

What is the Settle MCP server?

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants connect to the tools you use. The Settle MCP server gives Claude, ChatGPT and other AI assistants that support MCP secure access to your Settle data, so you can ask questions about bills, vendors and payments in plain language and get answers in seconds.

Which AI assistants work with Settle?

Settle works with Claude, ChatGPT and other AI assistants and tools that support MCP. Once connected, your assistant can look up and analyze your Settle data alongside the other tools it uses.

Who can connect to the Settle API?

Anyone in a Settle business with API access can create an access token in Settings. A token gets the same access as the person who created it, so every request is limited by their role in Settle. Tokens can be revoked at any time.

Is my data secure?

Each connection only reaches the data you choose, every request follows the user's role in Settle, and you can disconnect a token or AI assistant whenever you need to. Settle is SOC 2 Type II compliant. Once data is shared with an AI assistant, its provider handles it under its own terms.

Can the Settle API or an AI assistant make changes in Settle?

Not today. The current Settle API and MCP tools are read-only. Write access is coming in future releases, and you'll always control which Settle tools and APIs your AI platform can use.

What does the Settle API cost?

Right now, the Settle API and MCP server are included with your Settle account on every plan.

How do I get started?
